BATTLE AT THE BRIDGE

Battle at the Bridge is the Woodbridge hosted competition, and is the largest competition in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2016, it hosted 50 high school teams, and  47 middle school teams. That's over 500 kids, with 85 accompanying volunteers to make it all run smoothly. The tournament champions, winners of the Excellence Award, and winners of the Design Award are qualified for the Virginia State Tournament in February.

2016 Excellence Award

"This is the highest award presented in the VEX Robotics Competition. The recipient of this award is a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a well-rounded VEX robotics program. 2016 Tournament Champions

The champions of the tournament. This is held at the end of the competition, and consists of a quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. The alliances are chosen by the top eight teams, who pick two other teams to accompany them through the tournament.

2016 Design Award

"The Design Award is presented to a team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization.​" -VEXRobotics

2016 Skills Award

This team had the highest score out of both Programming Skills and Driving Skills. These are two one minute challenges where it is just a single robot on the field, and the team shows their capabilities. This award does not qualify for states.

2016 Judges Award

This team shows a great attitude throughout the entire event, no matter the falls or climbs they had. They leave a lasting impression on the judges from their meeting. This award does not qualify for States.
